Social Enterprise UK have just launched their latest Trading for Good report, in partnership with Lloyds Bank Foundation. It highlights how social enterprises are creating more jobs, helping communities help themselves and fostering a more diverse workforce than traditional SMEs.
Commissioned by Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales, the Trading for Good report delves deeply into the work of social enterprises, focusing particularly on those that are small to medium-sized.
The report clearly shows the vital impact social enterprise are having on some of the poorest communities in the UK. Demonstrating that social start-up rates are high, it encourages the government, members of the public and funders to support social enterprises wherever possible.
News that social enterprises are beating traditional SMEs when it comes to diversity in leadership is encouraging, and it’s great to see some hard-and-fast statistics that confirm how well social entrepreneurs are supporting their local communities.
