The social enterprise market is changing, and with that comes the need for us to adapt the products and services we create and deliver. We are very well positioned to do this, nationally, and our approach is collaborative. Leveraging skills and resource
We are already working with partners in various sectors and have identified opportunities around the rehabilitation of offenders for example. Take prisons - some training goes on but different teams within the justice and prison services don’t always work together. This means there are opportunities to improve the system for the justice sector, offenders and, ultimately, society.
In this instance, there is a captive resource that can be trained in a particular skill. By tying this in with an external market and building partnerships with private businesses, prisons have the opportunity to build a business and become self-sufficient. In this instance there are clear commercial and social benefits.
