What's on the 'road ahead' for VCSEs?
NCVO has published their annual “Road Ahead” report which aims to help those working in the voluntary sector get their bearings and navigate the best way forward for 2016.
The four key issues they have identified for 2016 are:
1. Responding to global crises and preparing for the possibility of Brexit - keep an eye out for NCVO's report on the Europe question shortly.
2. The only way is....local - the most significant developments are likely to be on a local level for VCSEs.
3. Playing digital catch-up - it will be important for VCSEs to review their digital capabilities in terms of infrastructure, as well as being aware of the opportunities and risks, to safeguard against lapses in data security.
4. Getting our house in order, together - charitable organisations will continue to be "under the spotlight". Whatever the size of your organisation, trustees and managers must ensure that their organisation can stand up to any scrutiny, to maintain trust from the public and their overall confidence in the sector.
