Training for investment readiness
Inspire2Enterpise has developed a unique, academically-accredited training scheme designed to help social enterprises develop their core propositions and get ‘investment ready’.
The Social Venture Builder Programme is a package of learning, support, mentoring and guidance, which aims to help social enterprises win public service contracts and attract the investment they need to grow. Participants who successfully complete the course also gain an MA in Social Innovation, further strengthening their credentials.
As part of the programme, social enterprises have to prepare detailed bids for contracts over a 12-month period. This in-depth process involves consultation and guidance from nationally-recognised social entrepreneurs and experts from the legal, health and social enterprise sectors. At the end of the course, participants have the opportunity to pitch their social enterprise ideas to a panel of investors and service commissioners.
Long-term benefits
Whether or not the final contract bids are successful, participants emerge equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to expand their social enterprise, increase its social impact and increase access to funding and investment.
The main skills acquired during the programme include:
- Planning, scaling and sustaining your venture
- Solving problems
- Modelling solutions to create new markets and opportunities
- Social enterprise leadership
- Understanding how society and social enterprises work
