Charity Commission Allowing Charitable Companies to convert to CIOs
The Charity Commission has announced a phased timetable allowing charitable companies to convert to charitable incorporated organisations (CIOs). This new legislation also means that all CIOs will be listed on the Business Names Index, held by Companies House.
Visit the government page to check the phased implementation timetable as applications will not be accepted before the given times.

FSB FinTech platform
A new FinTech platform from FSB launched, using intelligent matching technology to match applicants with finance providers.
The idea is to provide an efficient service using technology, which they believe will offer a very simple way to access finance.
Charities and social enterprises that have an Access Point (approved social investor) approved by Reach Fund will be able to apply for a two year grant of up to £15,000 that can be used to become ‘investment ready’.
ICO releases GDPR FAQs for charities
A recurring topic that will be gaining an increasing amount of attention as the live date (25th May) draws closer, the ICO has released FAQs related to the GDPR specifically related to charities. It’s vital to be compliant by this time so the better your understanding before then, the better position you will be in.
